eng Selection of Suitable Pasting Liquid and Aqueous Organic Mixture for Extraction of Vitamin E into Glassy Carbon Paste Electrode An extraction of α-tocopherol, the most active form of vitamin E, from aqueous organic mixtures into the various glassy carbon pastes was realized. These heterogeneous electrode materials were prepared by mixing glassy carbon powder with different pasting liquids such as paraffin oil, silicone oil, polypropylene, wax, vaseline, etc. Following conditions affecting the performance of the α-tocopherol extraction were found as an optimum: amount of pasting liquid (silicone oil), 10%; extraction time, 15 min; speed of stirring, 400 rpm; acetone content, 60 %. All electrochemical measurements were performed at prepared glassy carbon paste electrode with electric resistance <10 Ω. Accumulated α-tocopherol was electrochemically oxidized by anodic square wave voltammetry in various supporting electrolytes at around 25 °C. Parameters of this electrochemical technique were as follow: Estart, 0 V; Eend, +0.6 V; Estep, 5 mV; ΔEampl, 0.025 V; ν, 2 Hz.
