eng Fast In-source CE/MS Separation of Biologically Active Compounds In this work, coupling of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) with mass spectrometry (MS) was used for the analysis of maltooligosaccharides and polyphenolic compounds. Both groups of analytes represent biologically active compounds with important role in human organism. Polyphenols can help protect a human body from influence of the free radicals and can improve an immune function and lower the risks of infection or cancer. Oligosaccharides play an important role in many cellular events as effective components of the information-carrier molecules family for the finely tunable role played in extra-cellular-signaling, recognition, trafficking, adhesion and proliferation phenomena. The developed CZE/MS coupling utilized coaxial sheath-flow interface and electrospray ionization (ESI). The possibilities of using in-source capillary for fast electrophoretic separation have been tested.
