First, the effect of different membrane stack configuration in electrodialysis with bipolar membrane was tested. The basic three compartment configuration was also modified to four compartment configuration with two anion or cation exchange membranes. Secondly, standard electrodialysis with monopolar membranes was used as the second step treating products of electrodialysis with bipolar membrane.
