eng Glassy carbon electrodes modified by metal particles with the use of mediator or thiol-functionalized polysiloxanes: preparation, characterization and application Herein, we report on the preparation and characterization of the glassy carbon electrode covered with thiol-functionalized polysiloxane film modified with lead. The thiolated organosilica films were deposited by spin-coating of sols on the freshly polished and electrochemically activated surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The mixture of two silica monomers tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPMS) have been used to prepare sols by co-condensation. The obtained materials have been characterized by broad range of instrumental techniques including, TEM and SEM microscopy, XPS, FTIR and 13C, 29Si NMR spectroscopy, nitrogen sorption measurements. The effect of films composition on the voltammetric response of the glassy carbon electrode covered with thiol-functionalized polysiloxane film modified with lead was also studied.
