eng Voltammetric behavior of muscle relaxant dantrolene sodium on silver solid amalgam and bismuth film electrodes Within this work, the electrochemical behavior of DAN has been studied and the voltammetric methods for its determination have been proposed using silver solid amalgam electrode (AgSAE) with different surface modifications [5] and using bismuth film electrode (BiFE) [6]. These working electrodes represent the most commonly used alternatives to mercury electrodes which come wrongfully into disfavour because of the toxicity of mercury. Cyclic voltammetry and direct current voltammetry has been used for study of the dependences of DAN voltammetric signals on pH and scan rate. Differential pulse voltammetry has been applied for development of sensitive methods of determination of tested electroactive compound using both working electrodes. Various statistical parameters, e.g., relative standard deviations of repeated measurements or limits of detection, were calculated. The obtained results were compared also with those achieved with hanging mercury electrode (HMDE). It was found that AgSAE as well as BiFE can serve as sensitive alternatives to HMDE in the DAN analysis. Voltammery; Dantrolene; Silver solid amalgam elecrode; Bismuth-film electrode
