eng Dealcoholization of Model Solutions by Reverse Osmosis and Diafiltration The methods for beer dealcoholization can be divided in two large groups, therefore physical and biological methods. Reverse osmosis was chosen and studied in the experimental part. Five model solutions were suggested for futher research, contained basic substances of the beer: water, ethanol a nd glucose. The effect of the substances added to the solution, and influence of retentate flow on the permeate flux were studied. The most significant decrease of permeate flux was caused by ethanol. The influence of retentate flow on the permeate flux was not significant. Major reduction of the ethanol concentration was expected during diafiltration process. Experimental results were compared with values calculated from mathematical model. During diafiltration long-time process the concentration of ethanol decreased from the initial value 4.49 % vol. to 0.24 % vol. The studied diafiltration process is suitable for the dealcoholization of investigated mixtures. Dealcoholization; Model Solutions; Reverse Osmosis; Diafiltration
