eng Influence of feed pretreatment on membrane microfiltration of titanium dioxide dispersions by combination of organic and inorganic coagulants The aim of this paper has been focused on the influence of coagulant type and operating parameters during crossflow microfiltration of aqueous titanium dioxide dispersions. The experiments were carried out with a tubular ceramic microfiltration membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.1 µm at various operating parameters. The influence of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) combined with iron chloride was higher than in the case of combination of poly(diallyldimethyl-ammonium chloride) with aluminium potassium sulfate dodecahydrate, under optimum conditions. It was shown that pretreatment of the feed by combined coagulants resulted in a permeate flux that was higher than that obtained with pretreatment by only single coagulant. microfiltration;ceramic membrane;pretreatment;coagulation
