Intercalates of five model NLO-active molecules having pyridine-4-yl moieties into three different layered phosphates and phosphonates (α-Zr(HPO4)2·H2O, γ-Ti(HPO4)2·2H2O and zirconium sulfophenylphosphonate) were prepared and characterized.
