eng Synthesis and structural analysis of micro-mesoporous mordenite with tailored structure and accessibility of activesites Mordenite is one of the most important zeolitic structures with a wide range of applications in the petrochemical industry, e. g. applied on a large scale in the hydroisomerization of C5-C6 alkanes. The acid sites active in the catalytic process are located in the straight 12-MR channels and 8-MR channel-pockets of mordenite structure. However, the accessibility of the acid sites in practically mono-dimensional 12-MR channels and in a confined environment of 8-MR channel-pockets is restricted by diffusion and the efficiency of the catalytic process is limited by mass transfer effects. The aim of this study is to obtain hierarchical mordenite zeolites with different levels of the secondary mesoporosity and targeted concentration of the acid sites with enhanced accessibility. The hierarchical micro-mesoporous zeolites were prepared through post-synthesis modification using by sequence of fluorination/desilication steps.
