eng Butanolysis: Comparison of potassium hydroxide and potassium butoxide as catalyst for biodiesel preparing This work focuses on alkaline catalyzed transesterification of rapeseed oil with butanol and comparison of two catalysts (potassium hydroxide and potassium terc. butoxide). The influence of various conditions (addition of water, temperature of separation, intensity of stirring and type of catalyst) on butanolysis process was studied for both catalysts. Analyses with accessible methods were made. Moreover, the contents of triacylglyceride, diacylglyceride and monoacylglyceride were determined by gas chromatography and conversion was calculated. For both catalysts kinetics curves of conversions were plotted. Butanolysis; potassium hydroxide; butoxide; catalyst; biodiesel
