eng Extraordinary behavior of tetradymites doped with transition metals Materials of tetradymite structure (i.e. Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3 and Sb2Te3) are being examined for more than half a century. They show significant thermoelectric effects (TE), possess nontrivial topology in k-space (topological insulators) or form diluted magnetic semiconductors when doped with magnetic impurities. While TE are one of the promising ways of utilizing of waste heat, magnetic properties are useful for spintronic applications. Thus, doping of these materials by transition metals (TM) could lead to interesting both transport and magnetic properties. We have exanimated single-crystalline samples of tetradymites doped with wide variety of TM. Transport parameters and magnetic properties such as Seebeck and Hall coefficient, electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility were measured. Powder and high-resolution X-ray diffraction were used to explore the solubility of TM and structural analysis. Chemical analysis was performed by X-ray fluorescence and Energy-dispersive X-ray within Scanning electron microscopy. Namely in Cr-doped Bi2Se3 [1] and Fe-doped Bi2Te3 we have discovered solubility of dopant as the key parameter in process of formation of (nano)inclusions. Extraordinary behaviour regarding to both transport and magnetic properties was observed.
