eng Structure nad properties of niobium zinc-phosphate glasses The two compositional lines with the metaphosphate composition were prepared by conventional melt–quenching method, one of the general formula xNb2O5–(50-x)ZnO–50P2O5 (compositional line from zinc metaphosphate to niobium(V) orthophosphate) and xNb2O5–50ZnO–(50-x)P2O5 (from zinc metaphosphate to combined Zn(NbO3)2, with main aim to test if the niobium can form an anion during these conditions. The substitution of individual constituents of the starting glass matrix with niobium oxide and its influence on the thermal properties and structure were studied. Glass transition temperature, temperature of softening and thermal expansion coefficient was measured. The structure was studied by Raman, EPR and 31P MAS NMR spectroscopies. niobium phosphate glasses; Raman spectroscopy; thermal properties; structure
