eng ETHANE OXIDATIVE DEHYDROGENATION OVER BINARY AND TERNARY MIXTURES OF ALKALINE AND ALKALINE EARTH CHLORIDES SUPPORTED ON LA-Y ZEOLITE: ADVANTAGEOUS AND DISADVANTAGEOUS In this research, different types of binary and ternary alkaline chloride mixture (with the eutectic composition), supported over lanthanum exchanged FAU zeolite, in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene has been investigated. The catalysts were prepared by thermal treatment of mechanical mixture of the alkali and alkaline earth chlorides with La-FAU (prepared by solid-state ion exchange of NH4-Y with LaCl3.7H2O under nitrogen flow) in the flow of helium at 500°C. Prepared catalysts were tested in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane by plug-flow fixed-bed cylindrical reactor at atmospheric pressure in reaction mixture consists of C2H6/O2/He = 3/15/82 vol. % with a total flow of 50 cm3 min-1 STP at 500 °C. Precursors, fresh and used catalysts were characterized by powder XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms, and Raman spectroscopy to achieve informations about crystallinity, morphology, textural properties and surface chemistry.
