eng Hydrogels Prepared from Corn Starch, Acrylic Acid and Acrylamide Hydrogels were synthesised under inert atmosphere from corn starch, acrylic acid, acrylamide, KOH, N,N´- methylene-bis-acrylamide and (NH4)2S2O8. Prepared hydrogels were studied for swelling in water, swelling in solutions of (NH4)2SO4, Ca(NO3)2 and urea. Solubility in water and rate of drying of swelled hydrogel were also examined.
