eng Organic push-pull chromophores serving photoredox catalysis The main aim of todays catalysis is to develop new way of activation small molecules. One approach, that has received much attention is visible light photoredox catalysis. A suitable photoredox catalyst is able to transform solar to chemical energy. In general, its necessary to find such molecule, which absorbs light in the visible region of the spectra with appropriate electrochemical properties. Few years ago, an efficient photocatalyst based on pyrazine has been developed in our our working group. This organic push-pull molecule proved its efficiency in various visible light mediated reactions such as CDC reaction, oxidation, oxidative hydroxylation, and reductive dehalogenation, pH-controlled photooxygenation of indoles and enantioselective oxidative C(sp3)-H olefinations have also been developed. My work focuses on structural modifications of original catalyst. Structural elaboration is done in the donor part as well in the acceptor part of the original molecule. Elucidation of structure-property relationship has been accomplished in the three photoredox reactions, cross-dehydrogenative coupling and annulation reactions. In this contribution, aforementioned systematic variations, synthesis of all catalysts, and their application in selected photoredox processes will be discussed.
