eng Nanofiltration of drug residues from aqueous solution The aim of this work is the separation of drug residues (Ibuprofen, IBU, and Diclofenac, DIC) from aqueous solution by commercially available nanofiltration membranes. For this application tubular membranes AFC 30 and AFC 40 were tested. Membranes were characterized at first with demineralized water and glucose solution. The influence of operating parameters, namely transmembrane pressure difference (5–30 bar), ionic strength (0–10 g/l NaCl) and feed flow rate (5–15 l/min), on separation of drugs residues was evaluated. Both tested membranes are suitable for separating IBU and DIC from aqueous solutions, but membrane AFC 40 is a better choice due to higher fluxes and rejection values at optimal conditions.
