eng Organic push-pull molecules with tunable properties: Towards dicyanopyrazine photoredox catalyst Organic push-pull molecules represent very interesting class of pi-conjugated materials with distinct photochemical properties. Their D-pi-A arrangement (D = donor and A = acceptor) renders them unique and tuneable fundamental properties such as HOMO-LUMO gap and absorption/emission behaviour. Firstly, the lecture will focus on general introduction and principal aspects of structural tuning in D-pi-A systems and, subsequently, on development of dicyanopyrazine (DPZ) X shaped push-pull molecules. Especially the DPZ substituted with two 5 methoxythiophenes possess optical and redox properties well tailored for photoredox catalysis. Its catalytic performance will be demonstrated on selected visible light-induced chemical transformations. dicyanopyrazine; push-pull; photoredox catalyst
