eng The effect of Bi2O3 content on micro-lens, -craters and waveguide formation in PbO-Bi2O3-Ga2O3 glasses by direct laser writing This work deals with the description of the role of the Bi2O3 addition on the local modification of the surface. The set of the glasses (PbO)0.75-x(Bi2O3)x(Ga2O3)0.25 for 0 < x < 0.30 was prepared by the melt-quenching method. Chemical composition was determined by the X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy. Laser direct writing was induced by the 447 nm CW laser focused to the spot with the maximal power density 1.5 kW/cm2. Based on the combination of the laser power density and exposition time the microlenses and craters or velocity of the sample´s movement during exposition in case of waveguides were created. The addition of the Bi2O3 led to the significant decrease of the threshold power density for microlenses formation (730 and 360 W/cm2 for 0 and 23 mol. % of Bi2O3 with 0.5 s exposition, respectively). The microcraters with a depth of 80 µm were formed by 60 s exposition time. glasses; photo-induced effects; microstructuring;
