eng Copper- and nickel-based reductive treatment of halogenated aromatic contaminants in aqueous solutions Metallic Cu- or Ni-based aluminum alloys were proved for effective hydrodehalogenation of halogenated aromatic contaminants such as brominated and chlorinated anilines, benzenes and phenols. This contribution is focused on the effect of different sources of copper-based hydrodebromination catalysts on the reduction of two industrially important chemicals such as herbicide Bromoxynil and brominated flame retardant Tetrabromobisphenol A. The experiments compared the reaction conditions of hydrodebromination and dosages of reduction agents for effective hydrodehalogenation of tested brominated phenols. hydrodehalogenation, brominated organic compounds, chlorinated organic compounds, catalysts, aluminum alloys, nickel, copper
