eng Epoxidation of esters of various vegetable oils and optimization of reaction conditions The epoxidation was carried out with methyl esters of various oils with different profiles of fatty acids (palm, sunflower, rapeseed, camelina sativa). The Plackett–Burman design and statistical evaluation of the reaction parameters were applied for epoxidation of Camelina sativa oil. The dependency between epoxides properties (viscosity, oxidation stability, epoxide equivalent weight, iodine value) and reaction conditions was described by statistical analysis. These models allow to set the mildest reaction conditions (temperature and amount of chemicals) for desired properties of the product. epoxidation; Camelina sativa; Placket-Burmann experiment design; optimization
