eng	Effect of Reaction Conditions and Experimental Setup on the Covalent Organic Framework Synthesis and Properties	For almost two decades, covalent organic frameworks (COF) represent a fascinating type of organic porous materials with a great potential in the field of molecular storage, sensing, catalysis, organic (opto)electronics, or energy-related applications. Due to their highly ordered structure in multiple dimensions and strong covalent bonds between the particular units, they possess unique physicochemical properties and can be build and modified towards the specific function. Here we have focused on the 2D olefin-based sp2 carbon-conjugated covalent organic frameworks as fully pi-conjugated systems with high stability. Crystalline covalent organic frameworks can be synthesized by several methods, among which the solvothermal synthesis is still the most popular. However, this approach remains challenging and in some cases it can be inaccessible with conventional laboratory equipment. Therefore, the formation of olefin-linked covalent organic frameworks based on 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine and 2,2',2''-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl)triacetonitrile was investigated in relation to the experimental setup and/or reaction conditions as well as the structure of the building blocks to demonstrate the complexity of covalent organic framework synthesis.
