eng Acrylated and Itaconated Plant Oils as Eco-Friendly Monomers for Emulsion Polymerisation Emulsion polymerization is a key technique for creating polymers and coatings, but most monomers used are petroleum-based. This study explores eco-friendly alternatives, using camelina oil to produce acrylic and itaconatef monomers via transesterification, epoxidation, and acrylation or itaconation. Itaconic acid, derived from carbohydrates, replaces acrylic acid, addressing environmental and safety concerns. Copolymerization results showed improved water resistance in coatings, with acrylation and itaconation proving effective for sustainable polymer production. emulsion polymerization; itaconic acid; eco-friedly monomers
