eng Coupling Hollow Fiber Microextraction with Square-Wave Voltammetry for Trace Formaldehyde Determination from Wood Emissions Formaldehyde is the simplest aliphatic aldehyde, characterized by high polarity. In this study, we demonstrate the feasibility of integrating an advanced gas-phase extraction approach based on HF-LPME with voltammetric techniques employing SP/BDDE electrodes, highlighting their effectiveness for the determination of formaldehyde in wood samples. Real wood samples were analyzed, showing consistent peak currents and low relative standard deviation. Using the optimized HF-LPME-SWV conditions, concentration dependencies of formaldehyde were obtained from 0,01 to 1 mmol L−1 . LOQ = 0,039 mmol L−1 and LOD = 0,013 mmol L−1. This confirms the method’s applicability to heterogeneous solid matrices. This study demonstrates the successful integration of HF-LPME with SWV using SP-BDDE electrodes for sensitive and selective formaldehyde detection in wood. The method is rapid, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly, with strong potential for environmental and industrial monitoring.
