eng Triphenylamine Derivatives: Towards Emissive Materials and Polymers Since the 1990s, there has been a growing interest in triphenylamine (TPA) derivatives. In push-pull chromophores, the TPA unit has found its irreplaceable place as an electron donor group. These materials are widely investigated in organic electronics, for example as emissive materials in OLEDs or as sensing materials. For the above applications, such derivatives are prepared as simple chromophores or as monomers for functionalization of polymers. In our group we have synthesized several series of TPAs with pyridine as an electron acceptor attached via different pi-linkers. Bases on the structure, we have designed chromophores sensitive to acids and bases, chromophore suitable for detection of HSO4- ions in water as well as monomers for polymeric materials with deep-blue emission.
