Použití palladia a kyseliny citronové vedlo ke zvýšení termické stabilizace analytu a umožňilo odstranit většinu interferující chloridové matrice při nízké teplotě. Přídavek Li významně zvýšil robustnost chemického modifikátoru vůči silně interferujícímu ZnCl2 v důsledku tvorby těžko disociovatelného LiCl, což vedlo k zamezení vzniku těkavých chloridů analytu. V přítomnosti navrženého chemického modifikátoru bylo možné použít maximální teploty termické úpravy 1000°C a vliv matrice na stanovení Tl ve všech uvedených typech vzorků byl zcela potlačen. Pro správné stanovení pak bylo možné použít metody přímé kalibrace bez přítomnosti matrice namísto časově náročné metody standardních přídavků. Správnost metody byla ověřena pomocí komerčně dostupných referenčních materiálů a pomocí referenční techniky ICP-MS. Citlivost a detekční schopnost navržené metody, charakterizovaná hodnotou charakteristické hmotnosti a detekčního imitu, byla při dávkování 10 ul vzorku 13 pg a 0.043 ug g-1. eng Overcoming of Interferences Occurring during the Direct Determination of Tl in Aqua Regia Extracts from Rocks, Soils and Sediments by D2-ETAAS Method Using Palladium-Citric Acid-Lithium Chemical Modifier The mixture of palladium chloride with citric acid and lithium has been proved as effective to overcome interferences occurring during the direct determination of Tl in aqua regia extracts from rocks, soils and sediments by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry using instrumentation with deuterium-lamp background correction (D2-ETAAS). Palladium with citric acid mixture served as an efficient agent for analyte stabilization, citric acid in addition has helped to remove most of interfering chloride at low temperature. An addition of Li has increased significantly the robustness of the modifier against strongly interfering ZnCl2 matrix by binding free chlorine into a more stable LiCl molecule. In the presence of this proposed chemical modifier, pyrolysis temperature 1000 °C could be used without any noticeable loss of volatile Tl species and the interference of the rest chloride matrix was significantly reduced. After that, an accurate determination of Tl in all types of investigated samples could be performed using calibration solutions without matrix-matching. The accuracy of Tl determination was verified by the analysis of certified reference samples and by the comparison of results with those found by an inductively coupled plasma orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight mass spectrometer (ICP-oa-TOFMS) method. Sensitivity and detection power of the proposed method given by characteristic mass and limit of detection value (10uL aliquots of sample) was 13 pg and 0.043 ug g-1 for the original sample, respectively.
