cze Syntéza a charakterizace nových chromoforů na bázi imidazolu pro nelineární optiku Organický materiálům pro nelineární optiku (NLO) byla poslední dobou věnována značná pozornost díky jejich možné aplikaci jako záznamová média apod. Námi navrhované organické sloučeniny zahrnují imidazol jako základní heterocyklický skelet a jeho systematickou substituci donory a akceptory za vzniku push-pull systému. Polarizabilitu takového systému lze následně jemně ovlivňovat pomocí prodlužování konjugační cesty vložením např. benzenového nebo thiofenového jádra. Syntéza vychází z 4,4'-disubstituovaných benzilů a jejich kondenzaci s aldehydy. Kondenzace byla prováděna v ledové kyselině octové v přítomnosti octanu ammoného. Všechny cílové molekuly byly chrakterizovány pomocí NMR, MS a elementární analýzy. imidazol; NLO; push-pull systém
eng Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Imdiazole-Based Chromophores for Nonlinear Optics Organic nonlinear optical (NLO) materials have been drawing considerable attention over the last 20 years due to their potential applications as an optical data storage medium or in switching or modulating devices. Our approach to the design, synthesis and property tuning of superior nonlinear optical chromophores involves an imidazole ring, as the basic heterocyclic skeleton, which is systematically substituted by the electron-donors (dimethylamino, methoxy groups) and electron-acceptors (cyano, nitro groups). The HOMO/LUMO gap is finely tuned by an extension of the conjugation pathway using either benzene or thiophene linkers. The target push-pull chromophores were identified by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analysis. Appropriately 4,4?-disubstituted benzils were used as starting materials condensing them with either the donor- or acceptor-substituted aldehydes to afford the desired compounds. The condensation reaction, as a facile and one-pot straightforward methodology, was carried out in glacial acetic acid in the presence of 10 eq. ammonium acetate imidazole; NLO; push-pull system
