Research and development activities at the Institute of Energetic Materials are divided into three categories:
Chemistry and technology of explosives. This category includes chemistry and technology of individual explosive substances (energetic materials in general), special analytical chemistry of explosives, technology of military and industrial explosives, technology of propellants, primary explosives and initiators, technology of pyrotechnic products, as well as technology of processing or disposal of delaborated military explosives.
