Provider: Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy
Programme: Interní rozvojová soutěž
Implementation period: 01.01.15 - 31.12.15
Workplace:
Team member: Bílková Zuzana | Slováková Marcela
Description:
Within principal immunological subjects of study program laboratory technician are students subjected to theoretical information about serological, immunoanalytical and cell-based techniques from clinical departments. Human lymphocytes could be using flow cytometry divided into two major populations based on their cell-surface antigen expression: T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes. Helper/inducer lymphocytes are a subset of T lymphocytes CD4+. Suppressor/cytotoxic lymphocytes are a subset of T lymphocytes CD8+. CD4+CD8+ counts are used to characterize forms of immunodeficiency and autoimmune diseases. Patients with autoimmune disease often produce antinuclear antibodies (ANA) that can be detected by indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) techniques using a HEp-2 cell substrate. Stained autoantibody positive-slides viewed through a fluorescence microscope will exhibit fluorescence corresponding to areas of the cell cytoplasm or nuclei where autoantibody has bound.
