Description:
The project represents a direct continuation of previous projects solved by both involved workplaces in the past. The cornerstone and common denominator of the project activities is thus the targeted synthesis and characterization of original organic compounds (mainly heterocyclic) with expected application potential in catalysis and material sciences (e.g. as electrolytes for the conversion and storage of various types of energy). For the purposes of creating new functional materials with a composite structure, the possibilities of their covalent and non-covalent bonding will also be investigated (e.g. immobilization on a polymer backbone, creation of a covalent organic framework, etc.). A unique topic, academically developed within the Czech Republic only at our faculty, will continue in the preparation of safe and ecologically acceptable energetic materials (explosives, squibs, pyrotechnic components). This study will also include a physical description of the explosive decomposition of these compounds depending on external conditions and stimuli. The knowledge gained will contribute to the elaboration of principles for safe handling, storage, and prevention of risks when working with them.
