eng Biofunctionalization of carriers and possibilities of their utilization Magnetic micro- and nanoparticles with immobilized enzymes for protein modification and carriers coated with polymers with modified surface characteristics need for various purposes are mentioned in this contribution. Biospecific carriers prepared by immobilization of lysozyme could be used for enrichment of bacterial extracts used for identification of microorganisms by MALDI-TOF [3]. Papain immobilized on magnetic particles is a possible system for production of HA size-defined molecules and is a promising tool for the size-directed fragmentation of hyaluronan and for the practical application of oligosaccharides in pharmacology and biotechnology. Alternatively, other opportunity hyaluronan use is based on magnetic microparticles coating with hyaluronan with the aim in exploitation of its unique biological characteristics to increase dispersion stability of particles, improve physical and chemical properties, achieve biocompatibility and biodegradability. enzymes;immobilization;hyaluronan
