Since ovarian cancer is the asymptomatic at early stages, most patients present with advanced disease when diagnosed. Human epididymal protein-4 (HE4) is nowadays of great importance as new promising biomarker of ovarian cancer. HE4 is more specific than currently used biomarker CA125 and it´s level in human blood correlates with the stage of disease.
