eng Asymmetric Henry Reaction Catalyzed by Recyclable Copper(II) Complexes of (Pyridine-2-yl)imidazolidine-4-thione The aim of this work was the preparation of imidazolidine-4-thione derivatives, as a structural analogues of previously studied high enantioselective catalysts based on copper(II) complexes of imidazolidine-4-ones2, and their anchoring to a polymer carrier. First, it was prepared copper(II) complexes of substituted (pyridine-2-yl)imidazolidine-4-thiones (Fig. 1) and their catalytic activity and enantioselectivity was verified. Subsequently, the imidazolidine-4-thiones catalysts were immobilized by anchoring to polymeric carriers based on a copolymer of styrene and 4-vinylbenzyl chloride. It was found out, that the enantioselectivity of these heterogeneous catalysts is comparable with the enantioselectivity of those homogenous forms (~90 %). The heterogeneous catalysts can be recovered and reused more than ten times without loss of their enantioselectivity and catalytic activity and thus they are more advantageous not only economically, but their application is also more environment-friendly.
