eng ELECTROCHEMICAL DETECTION OF FOODBORNE PATHOGENS BASED ON RAPID WHOLE CELL IMMUNOCAPTURE PLATFORM Foodborne illnesses caused by pathogens and their toxins pose a serious threat to human health. Many of these pathogens and their toxins are thermostable, and food safety control becomes an even more complex issue. We decided to create a rapid and selective method for detection of whole bacteria cells by combination magneto-immunoassay with electrochemical detection. We detected Salmonella and Listeria cell directly from a sample of milk by using conjugates, which comprises of antibodies and gold nanoparticles/silica nanoparticles modified with gold nanoparticles. For detection, square wave cathodic stripping voltammetry and screen-printed electrodes was used. Foodborne pathogens;electrochemical immunosensors;screen-printed electrodes
