eng EXTENDED RELEASE OF PENTOXIFYLLINE - DUAL MATRIX TABLETS CONTAINING POLYVINYL ALCOHOL AND GLYCERYL DIBEHENATE The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the possibility of using of dual matrix tablets containing polyvinyl alcohol and glyceryl dibehenate for extended release of pentoxifylline. The studied matrix tablets were prepared by the direct compression method, Prosolv® SMCC 90 was used as a coprocessed dry binder and magnesium stearate as a lubricant. The effect of tablets composition on the rate of pentoxifylline release was evaluated by the non-linear regression analysis of the dissolution profiles. In accordance with requirements of FDA, also alcohol-induced dose dumping was also studied. dual matrix tablet; pentoxifylline; release; dissolution POLYVINYL; ALCOHOL; AND; GLYCERYL; DIBEHENATE
