eng FTIR Study of the Interactions Between Alginate and Chitosan Biopolymers During Dissolution Process Hydrophilic matrix tablets with tramadol hydrochlorid (TH), sodium alginate and chitosan were prepared by direct compression method. The release of TH from prepared drug formulations was studied by the dissolution test method according to the European Pharmacopoeia 9 th using paddle apparatus (Sotax AT 7 Smart, Allschwil, Switzerland). Dissolution tests were perfomed in various aqueous solutions of different pH values and ionic strength (redistilled water, acidic medium pH 1.2 simulating gastric fluid and phosphate buffer pH 6.8). IR spectra were measured on a Nicolet 6700 FTIR spectrometer. Spectra were scanned in the range of wavenumber from 4000 to 400 cm-1 at spectral resolution of 4 cm-1 and with the number of scans 64. dissolution; tramadol; alginate; chitosane; interaction
