Since 1993 the Department of Graphic Arts has been a full member of IARIGAI (International Association of Research Institutes for the Printing, Information and Communications Industries), a global organization bringing together research and higher education centres in the field of printing. The Department is also a member of an international association of schools of graphic arts International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts, Technology and Management and some workers are members of IS&T (The Society for Imaging Science and Technology, USA).
Students and academic staff are offered an opportunity of internships within the Socrates/Erasmus project at a number of European graphic arts colleges: Technische Universität Chemnitz, Institut für Print- und Medientechnik (Germany), Gjøvik University College (Norway), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Zagreb (Croatia).
Within the CEEPUS network titled "Research and Education in the Field of Graphic Engineering and Design" the cooperation is extended to other workplaces with similar focus: University of Novi Sad (Serbian Republic), University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria), Óbuda University (Hungary), University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Technical University of Lódz (Poland), University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia).
We also have to mention the collaboration with the Université de Rennes 1 (France), Université de Lille (France), University of Debrecen (Hungary), as well as Université de Bordeaux (France), Université de Nantes (France), Université d'Angers (France), University of Hamburg (Germany) and the National Institute of Chemistry (Slovenia).
