Group specialization
The group specializes in study of chalcogenide glass-forming materials. The research attempts to provide better understanding and description of complex processes (e.g.: structural relaxation, crystallization) with respect to the measured physical properties (thermal expansion, heat capacities, viscosity, …..) of these materials. The main topics are:
- study of nucleation and crystal growth in supercooled glass-forming materials using microscopy and calorimetry
- study of structural relaxation in the glass forming region
- analysis and theoretical description of kinetic processes taking place in supercooled melts, glasses and amorphous materials
- viscosity measurements of glass-forming materials in wide temperature range
- heat capacity measurements of solids
- study of surface self-diffusion in amorphous materials
