Nitreny, RN, a nitrenové ionty, [R2N]+, jsou prudce reaktivní analogy karbenů skupiny 15 s extrémně krátkou dobou života, která obvykle za normálních podmínek nepřesahuje nanosekundy. / Nitrenes, RN, and nitrenium ions, [R2N]+ are fiercely reactive carbene analogues of group 15 with extremely short life spans typically not exceeding nanoseconds under normal conditions.
Only recently, we achieved the kinetic stabilization of the first nitrene using a bulky and rigid MSFluind substituent, which enabled the isolation and full characterization. The nitrene features a triplet ground state and is stable at least for three days at room temperatures, which allowed first reactivity studies. The same MSFluind substituent was also instrumental for the preparation of nitrenium ions and the heavier pnictogenium ion, [R2E]+ (E = P, As, Sb, Bi), some of which turned out to be Lewis superacids.
