eng Non-target Lipidomic Quantitation Using HILIC-LC/MS and Off-line 2D-LC/MS/MS Lipidomics is a branch of metabolomics that involves the identification and quantitation of cellular lipids and their interactions with other lipids, proteins and metabolites. HPLC/MS has the highest potential for reliable identification and quantitation of complex lipidomic mixtures, where HPLC serves for the chromatographic separation of complex lipidomic extract including isobaric species and then MS is used for the identification and quantitation. The quantitation is typically performed on QqQ using SRM transitions for selected lipid species in the target analysis. MWs of lipids are determined according to characteristic molecular adducts, the phospholipid (PL) class is determined by neutral loss of the polar head group and regioisomeric positions are assigned according to ratios of characteristic product ions.
