eng CENTRIFUGAL TRIPHENYLAMINE-BASED PUSH-PULL CHROMOPHORES Push-pull molecules are important material for various (non)linear optical (NLO) and optoelectronic applications. Besides the traditional and the most straightforward linear D-p-A, alternative Y- or X-shaped D-p-A systems were developed witch promising applications in material chemistry. Another approach to the design of push-pull molecules is a central-peripheral arrangement with central donor and peripheral acceptors (centrifugal systems) or vice versa (centripetal systems). An inexpensive triphenylamine is an intuitive precursor for tripodal centrifugal systems having nitrogen atom as electron donor in the centre and three phenyl rings as a template for building p-linkers. In this work, starting from triphenylamine, various centrifugal push-pull systems were synthesized. Various all cyano moieties were chosen as acceptors in order to study extent of ground state D-A interactions (intramolecular charge-transfer) and NLO properties. triphenylamine; push-pull chromophore; D-p-A system
