eng LITHIUM COMPLEXES OF ASYMETRIC AMIDINATES AS STARTING COMPOUNDS FOR FURTHER REACTIVITY STUDIES Metal amidinates, of general formula shown in Scheme 1A, are frequently studied compounds. The use of various transition metal amidinates as catalysts of various processes are known [1]. Nowadays, the main interest is focused on the complexation and stabilization of unusual, generally lower, oxidation states of metals. The current topic in this chemistry, in the class of the main group metal compounds, is the synthesis, structural studies and reactivity with pointing towards preparation of reduced silicon, germanium and tin species [1]. The chosen way to prepare lithium amidinates (Scheme 1) is an addition reaction of N,N´-disubstituted lithium amide to the highly polarized C-N triple bond of amino-carbonitrile moiety with the subsequent migration of substituents among the nitrogen atoms [2,3]. Further reactivity of lithium species will be discussed. LITHIUM; COMPLEXES; ASYMETRIC; AMIDINATES; REACTIVITY STUDIES
