They have a lot of advantages, such as very fast cure in seconds, very good chemical resistence, high strenght and elasticity (according to the composition of the paint or coating) and contain no volatile organic solvent. Disadvantage of curing by UV radiation could be a migration of unreacted monomers and photoinitiators of the cured film. The migration of substances from the cured film is inappropriate for paints used in food packaging.
