eng Peripheral akceptor variation as a tool to systematically improve two photon absorption of triphenylamino-derived chromophores. Tripodal systems based on triphenylamine scaffold substituted with peripheral electron accepting moieties are well-known and efficient two photon absorbing molecules. Despite this fact, it is surprising that a systematic study that would shed light on the effects of various acceptors and  linkages on two photon absorption not appeared yet. For this reason, a series of 12 model tripodal compounds was synthesized. The acceptors used in these molecules involve well known as well as newly developed/used cyano-derived acceptors. In this way, we were able to systematically alter the peripheral cyano-substituted acceptor moieties as well as the -system connecting them to the triphenylamine central donor. This would allow also thorough structure-property relationships. In this contribution, mainly the synthetic strategy and structure elucidation will be discussed. triphenylamine, cyano, chromophore, tripodal molecules
