eng Push-pull-push quadrupolar molecules with central tetrafluorobenzene acceptor. Within the last two or three decades, organic substances functionalized with fluorine atoms became tremendously investigated and burgeoning area of organic chemistry. Due to the presence of fluorine atoms, organic molecules possess peculiar and unique properties and found application across many branches of modern life sciences. Hence, in this contribution we will report application of tetrafluorobenzene (TFB) as an acceptor moiety in quadrupolar D-π-A-π-D molecules. These molecules were synthesized from commercially available 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene via cross-coupling reactions. Nine novel chromophores with systematically extended π-system were synthesized. Further electronic tuning has been achieved by variation of the appended donor (N,N-dimethylamino and methoxy groups). Target chromophores were investigated by X-ray analysis, electrochemical measurements, absorption and emission spectra and theoretical calculations and structure-property relationships were elucidated. tetrafluorobenzene, cross-coupling reaction, chromophore, donor,
