eng Development of the ETV-o-TOF-ICP-MS technique and its comparison with o-TOF-ICP-MS technique with a classic sample introduction system in analysis of thallium in spruce needles The aim of this study was the development of the ETV-ICP-MS method for thallium analysis in slurry samples. Samples of spruce needles and certified reference materials GBW 10052 and BCR 679 were analyzed. In order to achieve optimal working conditions were done some adjustments of the ETV temperature program, especially of pyrolysis and vaporization steps. As a modifier was used a mixture of palladium with citric acid for stabilization of analyte at lower temperatures during pyrolysis step and for improve analyte transport efficiency [1, 2]. Thallium was determined in samples of spruce needles. Spruce needles were cryogenically milled and then were either mineralized with 65% HNO3 using microwave mineralizer or a slurry was prepared with use of 0.1% triton X-100. The mineralized samples were analyzed by ETV-ICP-MS and ICP-MS. The prepared slurries were analyzed by ETV-ICP-MS. Obtained results of 205Tl were 0.0105 ±0.0008 mg.kg-1 for ICP-MS analysis of mineralized samples, 0.0130 ±0.0012 mg.kg-1 for ETV-ICP-MS analysis of mineralized samples and 0.0123 ±0.0016 mg.kg-1 for ETV-ICP-MS analysis of slurry samples and LODs of those methods were 0.567; 0.154 and 0.370 µg.kg-1.
