eng Cancer Lipidomics: Analysis of Dysregulated Lipids Using Mass Spectrometry Lipids are major building blocks of membranes of cells and intracellular compartments. They fulfil numerous crucial cell functions and their dysregulation insome serious human diseases may be used in the biomarker discovery. In our research we demonstrated the different lipidomic composition between tumor and normal samples for cell lines, human tissues obtained after the oncological surgery of breast tumors [1] and kidney tumors [2] and plasma samples of inbred mice. Now we are working on the analysis of human plasma and urine samples for selected types of cancer to determine whether statistically significant differences can be found between cancer patients and healthy volunteers.
