eng Preparation of zirconium phenylphosphonates and carboxymethylphosphonates using minimalistic-liquid assisted method In this work, the minimal liquid approach was employed to prepare zirconium phosphonates using commercially available phenylphosphonic and carboxymethylphosphonic acids. Zirconium phenylphosphonates and carboxymethylphosphonates were synthesized by reacting hydrated zirconium oxide with the respective phosphonic acid or its mixture with phosphoric acid or ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, followed by heating at the selected temperature for two days. The influence of reaction conditions, including the composition of the starting mixture and temperature, on the product composition and crystallinity was investigated. Additionally, ion exchange of α-ZrP or γ-ZrP with phenylphosphonic or carboxymethylphosphonic acid, resulting in partial exchange of phosphate groups for phosphonate groups and the formation of mixed phosphate-phosphonates, was also studied.
