eng Organic Photoredox Catalysis Since 2010 or so, photoredox catalysis has evolved into a powerful tool that reshapes the current organic synthesis. Radical reactions that were formerly infeasible or accomplishable only under very harsh conditions are, nowadays, facile and regio/stereo controllable with the aid of organic photoredox catalyst. Dating back to 2014, dicyanopyrazine (DPZ) has been developed in the Czech Republic and proved very efficient to initiate various valuable organic transformations to date. On the occasion of 10th anniversary, fundamental aspects and principles of the organic photoredox catalysis, historical background, synthesis, mechanism of action, and synthetic utility of DPZ and its successor, fused and robust dithienoquinoxaline (DTQ), will be summarized and discussed in this contribution. photoredox catalysis; dicyanopyrazine; dithienoquinoxaline
