Vědecká práce je zaměřena především na různé aplikace fotoakustických metod pro studium vícevrstvých materiálů, zejména tenkých polymerních vrstev (včetně funkčních materiálů), a na další charakterizaci materiálů, v posledních letech zejména termochromních systémů.
