Popis:
Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry is suitable technique for the analysis of wide range of polar to ionic organometallic compounds. In the framework of this project, the analysis of organtin and other organometallic compounds will be systematically investigated. The ion trap analyser with MSn possibility is especially powerful for the structural analysis of these compounds. The combination of MSn spectra interpretation, isotopically labelled standards in defined positions, parallel record of both positive- and negative-ion spectra and in some cases a monisotopic isolation of precursor ions for MSn measurements will be applied for studying the fragmentation behaviour of organotin compounds. The initial results proved that suggested procedure is useful for their structural analysis. The goal of suggested project is the correlation of fragmenation behaviour of organotin compounds with their structures and the application of this knowledge for the structural analysis. Mentioned approach will be extended to other classes of organometallic compounds after the generalization of fragmentation behaviour of organotin compounds. The benefit of this project should be the knowledge of possibilities and limitations of electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in the structural analysis of complex organometallic molecules and the comparison of this technique with nuclear magnetic resonance used so far. The derivatives with potential industrial or medicinal applications will be selected for our studies.
